Our Carniolan hybrid queen line started with the original New World Carniolan stock. Over the past two decades we selected for honey production, gentle temperament, hygienic behavior, and good spring build up in Colorado. They are open mated in northern California where we flood the area with drones to ensure a well mated queen. Our Carniolan hybrids are usually on the darker side but not always.
